Geez...must still be the season
for what has become a common sort of treason
To use false rumors
And media-generated tumors
To state as fact that Jesus is greater than Lennon ever was

Fact is that Jesus was a mortal man and so was he
Both even bled while all stood idly by to see
Only one was brutally nailed to a cross
Yet both were humanities devastating loss
And it's fact that Jesus is still greater than Lennon ever was?

Lennon became every sinners Personal Jesus
Intended to be sacrificed by the many of us
To be continuously used and abused
By minds that still remain sick and confused
Because Jesus was a "greater" man than Lennon ever was?

Fact is that they were equals in every way
Both spoke the factual truths of their day
Both delivered factual messages of hope
With a style meant for us to use to cope
Yet Jesus was a greater man than Lennon ever was?

They both knew that Evil would always prevail
When those who are Good fear that final nail
Into a coffin or onto a cross
Both will always remain a devastating loss
Because the fact is Jesus and Lennon were as equal as only compassionate humans can be
